The Colombo Seafood Festival 2017 was held from 8^th- 10^th December, 2017, at Green path, Open Air Theatre, Viharamahadevi Park. Theme of the exhibition was "Gathering of food producers for a blue economy based development".  Inauguration ceremony was graced by Hon Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries & State Minister of Mahaweli Development, Hon. A.H.M Fowzie, State Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation, Mrs.W.M.M.R.Adikari Secretary Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Dr. Anil Premaratna, Chairman, NARA, Mr. B.C.W. Iddamalgoda, DG, NARA, honored the opening ceremony. Seafood products, fish therapy programmes, art competitions, enormous variety of fisheries related exhibits, and other entertainment programs amused the participants.

Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Mass Media, Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries and State Minister of Mahaweli Development had charmed the certificate awarding ceremony on December 10^th, 2017 at Colombo Seafood Festival  Green path, Viharamahadevi Park. Certificates were awarded to the winners of Aqua club-quiz, art and photo competition, best stall and to the sponsors. Mrs.W.M.M.R.Adikari, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Mr. Monti Ranathunga, Director General (Technical), Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development had also participated at the event.
