Issues Related To Bivalve Farming In Sri Lanka

An awareness programme on “Issues related to bivalve farming in Sri Lanka” which was jointly organized by NARA and Sri Lanka Center for Development Facilitation was held on 10th August 2016 at the Millennium centre, New Town Hall, Colombo 07.

The programme was conducted for medical officers for health (MOH) and public health inspectors (PHI) from the ministry of health.  The aim of the programme was to increase the awareness on safety issues in bivalve farming in order to expand the industry in Sri Lanka. Dr H.M.Palitha Kithsiri, Deputy Director General Research and Development and Dr. Sujeewa  Ariyawansa, Principal Scientist from NARA and Ms Sepalika Wickramasinghe, Deputy Director, from the department of fisheries and aquatic resources addressed  this gathering.
