Korean Scientist meeting with NARA Scientists

Delegates (Ocean scientists) from Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), Korea visited National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) of Sri Lanka on 30th June 2017. Meeting between NARA and Korean scientists were held at Chairman’s board room. Sri Lankan team was headed by Dr H.M.P. Kithsiri, Deputy Director General/ Research and Development while Korean Team led by Dr. Rho TaeKeun, chemical Oceanographer from KIOST. The team consists of 10 members including physical, chemical and biological Oceanographers from KIOST and some private companies. The main objectives of their visit to explore opportunities to establish collaborative ocean research in the Indian Ocean, capacity building of NARA scientists and exchange scientists for research and training in future. Potential thematic areas for collaborative research were identified during the meeting and agreed to implement future collaborative programs.
