02 years experience in Saudi Arabia as a senior surveyor in the following areas;

  • Second order class 1 horizontal traverse using one second optical theodolite and EDM
  • General Survey computations
  • Topographic surveys using theodolite and EDM or Total station
  • Performing differential and trigonometric leveling, cross sectioning, traversing, profiling, route surveys and horizontal curve layout

1998 I joined the National Hydrographic Office as a surveyor and involved in coastal and transitional zone surveys around the coastal belt of Sri Lanka. I mainly contributed my service to National Nautical Charting Programme by providing survey data to publish Nautical Charts of main harbours of Sri Lanka and other near shore areas. In addition to that I have involved in the surveys of following areas;

  • Coastal zone management
  • Environmental protection
  • Dredging and dredging monitoring of Fishery Harbours
  • Anchorages
  • Engineering survey and pipe/cable line route surveys (marine outlets)
  • Inland water bodies and lagoons
  • Beach profiling

Doha Metro Red line South Project (RLS) in the State of Qatar -  Sept. 2014 to Oct. 2016

Position: Senior Tunnel Surveyor

  • Topographic and detail surveys with using Leica TS15A.
  • Tunnel network surveys using Leica TM 30 (0.5 second accuracy) and data processing with Eupalinos and Liscad software.
  • Daily CAP guidance system related work for the guidance of tunnel boring machine.
  • Tunnel profile data collection and processing with Eupalinos software.
  • Geodetic levelling in the tunnel using Leica DNA 03 and data processing with Leica Geo Office.
  • Gyro measurement’s using Gyromat 3000 for the underground tunnels.
