Academic Qualifications
- MSc in Natural Science, (Physical Oceanography special) 2016-2019
South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, University of Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, China - BSc in Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Oceanography special) 2011-2015
Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Technology, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka
Research Interest
- Ocean atmospheric interaction and their influence over regional climatic
- Biological process in tropical Indian Ocean.
Research Experience
I have researched on the variability of ocean salinity in the north Indian Ocean and tropical air-sea interaction during my postgraduate study and obtained a solid knowledge in basic Indian Ocean climate and ocean dynamics. I have participated in several research expedition cruises in the Indian Ocean and gained strong shipboard experiences, as well as familiarized with the oceanographic data sampling techniques including CTD, and XCTD.
I am competent enough in interdisciplinary fields such as Geographic Information Systems (QGIS), Statistical programming, quantitative fisheries and data science. I have extensive experience in statistical programming from various statistical packages such as Matlab, R, and SPSS. With respect to these research background, I have published several peer-reviewed research articles and conference proceedings.
