Research experience    :

  • Worked as a research assistant from 2016-2018 under the supervision of Pamoda B.Ratnaweera in the department of science and technology, Uva Wellassa University. The research project was funded by National Science Foundation (NSF). Research activities conducted on isolation of endophytic fungi, identification of fungal endophytes, extraction of secondary metabolites, bioactivity checking against selected bacteria and cabbage pest (Diamond back moth-DBM), purification of bioactive secondary metabolites using bioassay guided chromatographic techniques, structure elucidation of bioactive compounds.

  • Successfully completed training programme on high tech instruments organized by the higher degree committee of faculty of science and technology with hands on experience in differential scanning calorimeter, scanning electron microscope, micro titer reader, high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography mass spectrometer and fourier transform infrared
  • Participated in the workshop on bioassays to enhance the awareness in bioactivity assays used in natural products, synthetic compounds, functional food and nano medicine – organized by Institute of biology and Zoonet of the open University, Sri Lanka.
