NARA Launched the Newly Built Fish Smoking Unit

Post Harvest Technology Team of NARA launched the Newly Built Fish Smoking Unit on the 27th of July, 2017 with parallel to NARA Scientific Sessions. The team hope to introduce this technology to the fisheries community in Sri Lanka in order to develop their economy.
This unit produce 500 kg of smoked fish per day. In addition to this, Smoked Dried Fish too will be produced using the unit. The technology is developed to minimize the Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbon level (PAH's) in smoked fish which is considered as a major issue in smoked fish industry.
