Australian – Sri Lanka KLIE project

Australian - Sri Lanka KLIE project team comprising Sydney University, Western Australia University, Department of Primary Industries, Green Tec Pvt. Ltd recently visited Sri Lanka, during their scoping study to develop a plan for sustainable marine aquaculture in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan counterparts of this project are MFAR, NARA, NAQDA and Ocean University. During their stay at NARA they had a fruitful discussion with NARA scientists regarding ongoing research activities at NARA and visited the available R&D facilities at NARA. The team members were Dr. Joy Becker, Ms. Cara Jeffery (SYD university)  Prof. Charitha Pattiyaarchchi (WSA University)  Dr. Wayne O'Corner (DPI), Mr. Grant Vinning (Economist), Mr. Byron Pakula (DFAT project coordinator Australian High Commission ) and Mr. Duminda Bandara (project coordinator Green Tec consultancy pvt.(Ltd.) and Mr. Namal Thalangama ( Additional Secretary MFAR). Professor. M.J.S.Wijeyaratne, chairman, NARA, Dr. H.M.P. Kithsiri, Director General, NARA, Dr. P.P.M Heenatigala, (Head)/Inland Aquatic Resources and Aquaculture Division and several scientists participated at the event.
