Professor Aimin Wang and Professor Xiubao Li from Hainan University, China was visited to initiate collaborative research on Perl oyster farming, sea ranching and coral reef restoration in Sri Lanka. Initial discussion was held with the participation of Scientists from NARA, officials from Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Export Development Board, Ministry of Strategic Planning and International Trade and Emirates Professor Jinadasa Katupotha at NARA on 03rd October 2018 prior to three day field visit to identify suitable areas for pilot projects.
Two experts, Professor Aimin Wang and Professor Xiubao Li , from Hainan University, China were invited by Deputy Director General of NARA, Dr. H.M.P. Kithsiri , on the visit to the same in year 2017. The Meeting was chaired by the Professor Daya Edirisinghe, Chairman, NARA. Deputy Director General, Dr. H.M.P. Kithsiri, Head of Marine Biological Resources Division, Dr. Sisira Haputantri and Head of Fishing Technology Division, Mr. N. Punyadeva were also participated.
